Create a Discord server

Stora uses a private Discord server as your personal storage backend. You'll need a dedicated server just for this.

Open Discord
Open Discord in your browser or desktop app. Make sure you're logged in.

Create a new server
Click the + button in the left sidebar → Create My Own → For me and my friends.

Name your server
Give it any name you like — for example Stora Storage. Click Create.
💡 Keep this server private. Don't invite other people to it.

Enable Developer Mode
Go to User Settings → Advanced → Developer Mode and turn it on. You'll need this to copy channel IDs in a later step.

Invite Pipeline to your server

Pipeline is the bot that fetches, downloads and deletes your files on Discord. It needs to be in your storage server to work.

What happens when you click? Discord will open an authorization page. Select your storage server from the dropdown and click Authorize. Pipeline will join with Read Message History and Manage Messages permissions — nothing else.

Create your storage channels

You need two channels — one where files are stored, and one for your file index.

Create a storage channel
Right-click your server name → Create Channel → name it #storage → Create Channel.

Create a manifest channel
Same process — create another channel named #manifest. This holds your file index.
💡 Keep both channels text channels, not voice.

Copy both channel IDs
Right-click each channel → Copy Channel ID. Paste them below.
Can't see "Copy Channel ID"?
  1. Go to User Settings (gear icon)
  2. Click Advanced
  3. Toggle on Developer Mode
  4. Now right-click any channel to copy its ID

Create a webhook

Webhooks let Stora upload files to your Discord storage channel. You need one for your #storage channel.

Open your #storage channel settings
Click the gear icon next to your #storage channel, or right-click it and select Edit Channel.

Go to Integrations
In the channel settings sidebar click Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook.

Copy the webhook URL
Click on your new webhook → Copy Webhook URL. It starts with https://discord.com/api/webhooks/...
⚠️ Keep this URL private — anyone with it can send messages to your channel.
